Death's Head

Death’s Head is a powerful wine, (magical?) made by the drow from a poisonous mushroom found in the underdark. It is black, has a slightly earthy smell, and is one of the most sought after beverages in the world. Death’s Head is a strong intoxicant and extremely addictive to non-drow. Death's Head acts more like a drug (see Book of Vile Darkness, page 41) than an alcoholic beverage for non-drow, however, for drow Death’s Head acts like any other strong wine (DC 10, 1d4 Dex/Wis).

Death’s Head has a surface market value of between 2200 gold pieces per quart (There are six portions per quart). In a drow city, the cost is 1/10th that.

For non-drow (DC 25, 2d4 Dex/Wis, it is possible to make the save for intoxication and not make the save for the drug effects):

Initial Effect: +4 alchemical bonus to Constitution and Charisma for 1d2 hours.

Secondary Effect: 1d4 Dexterity damage.

Side Effects: Feeling of intense pleasure for 1d4 hours.

Overdose: None.

Type: Ingested DC 25.

Addiction: High.

Pickswinger's Best

Pickswinger's Best is a powerful ale that Bump brews for personal consumption. (DC 20, 2d4 Dex/Wis).

Pickswinger's Dark

Pickswinger's Dark is a strong, dark beer that goes down as smooth as some of the watery brews sold in some of the other establishments, but tastes infinitely better. (DC 7, 1d4 Dex/Wis)

Queloran Whiskey

Queloran whiskey is a distilled grain beverage made on the islands collectively known as Quelorl. Though similar to grain alcohols made the world over, Queloran whisky is widely recognized as the ultimate expression of this variety of spirit.

Like all whiskeys, Queloran whiskeys are distilled from a grain ale. Sages have speculated on what factors result in the superiority of Queloran whiskey. Most agree that the difference is achieved through non-magical means. The general consensus is that a combination of the local peat and water used in the creation of the beverage imparts the distinctive flavor found in these whiskeys. This should not imply that all whiskeys of this region are identical, as nothing could be further from the truth. Queloran whiskeys depict a wide range of flavors. Though the product of a single distillery can be expected to be consistent over time, different distilleries produce beverages that often share very little in the way of flavor. The only trait common to all Queloran whiskey is outstanding quality.

There are currently around 500 different distilleries in operation throughout Quelorl. Most are family operated and have been producing whiskey for several hundred years. The oldest have been producing their product for over 1000 years. More common Queloran whiskeys can be had locally for as little as 2 gp per bottle. Rare, premium bottlings often trade hands between distant collectors for upwards of 10,000 gp per bottle. Some bottles are rumored to be imbued with magical properties offering the drinker improved health or increased physical abilities.
