Magnus,
the deity of strength, appears as a huge, muscular, bear of a man with long
black hair and beard, wearing only a torc on each arm and a leather loincloth.
The ultimate hedonist, Magnus revels in tackling nearly impossible physical
challenges just for fun, then enjoying copious amounts of fine wine. His
dalliances with mortals are legendary, as are the heroes born of such unions. He
fights with his bare hands, though his twin torcs add power to his already
mighty fists.
Dogma
Cowardice
helps no one; the strong should lead the weak; followers should resolve disputes
through athletics; a raucous lifestyle ensures living. These are the main
precepts of Magnus.
Clergy and Temples
Magnus’ clerics are strong, and
therefore are expected to lead the weaker. They train themselves and others to
become stronger and faster, organize and judge athletic tournaments, and
participate in physical challenges on a whim. Clerics of Magnus also tend to get
into large tavern brawls and are often looked upon as troublemakers. They favor
attire in brown and white.
Temples
of Magnus are spacious and seldom richly adorned. They always contain a large
gymnasium, baths, and usually a small arena.
