Jarus
Marn is an elven warrior who, unlike most elves, fights with a style that
depends almost entirely on power. Jarus invented a fighting style that
emphasizes bull rushes, destructive attacks, and the long held notion that the
best defense is a good offense.
After
retiring from active adventuring, Jarus opened a school to teach his brand of
fighting. The graduates are Marn fighters.
Hit Die: d10.
Requirements:
To
qualify to become a Marn fighter, a character must fulfill the following
criteria.
Class
Skills:
The
Marn fighter class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Balance
(Dex), Climb (Str), Craft (any)(Int), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), and Swim
(Str).
Skill Points at Each Level: 2 + Int modifier.
Class
Features:
All the
following are class features of the Marn fighter prestige class.
Weapon
and Armor Proficiency: All Marn fighters are proficient with all simple and
martial weapons, with all type of armor, and with shields.
Power
Rush (Ex): When using a bull rush maneuver, a Marn fighter resolves the rush
as if they were one size category larger.
Stunning
Blow (Ex): A Marn fighter has the ability to stun a creature with his
powerful blows. The Marn fighter must declare she is using a stun attack before
making the attack roll (thus, a missed attack roll ruins the attempt). A foe
struck by the Marn fighter is forced to make a Fortitude saving throw (DC 10 +
the Marn fighter’s class level + Strength modifier), in addition to receiving
normal damage. If the saving throw fails, the opponent is stunned for 1 round. A
stunned character can’t act and loses any Dexterity bonus to AC, while
attackers get a +2 bonus on attack rolls against a stunned opponent. Constructs,
oozes, plants, undead, incorporeal creatures, creatures immune to critical hits,
and creatures with damage reduction that cannot be defeated by the Marn
fighter’s weapon cannot be stunned by his stunning attack.
Crushing
Blow (Ex): When a Marn fighter attempts to sunder an opponents weapon, they
can land a crushing blow that doubles the normal damage done to the weapon as if
they had the Improved Sunder feat.
Supreme
Cleave (Ex):
At 5th level, a Marn fighter can take a 5-foot step between attacks
when using the Cleave or Great Cleave feat.
