Background
Kruenor Thunderforge is last remaining member of his small clan after a war with a mysterious undead army. Barely able to escape and left without a home, he wandered the untamed area to the east of the Drake Mounts. One day in early autumn, Kruenor was attacked by a pair of ogres. Fortunately the ogres were being watched by a patrol of green elves and the leader of the green elf patrol decided to help the lone dwarf. After a quick battle the ogres were defeated, but Kruenor was hit with a tremendous blow that left him near death.
After what seemed like an eternity, Kruenor woke in the green elf camp. Against his better judgment, the leader of the patrol, Jalai Ferunil, had extended his hospitality to the young dwarf. Jelai's lack of the normal green elf xenophobia was a turn for the better for Kruenor. He was allowed to live with the elves and they even gave him information about the man that destroyed his clan. It turns out that the elves had also had problems with the undead minions of a Tekkan priest. The priest's name is Terrak Dojan.
Kruenor lived with the elves for a year. In this time, he began to act more like the elves. He also learned of a very elven notion, "saarinen". Saarinen is an elven vengeance quest. When undertaking a saarinen, a wronged elf will forsakes all that is precious to them and takes saarinen as a surname until vengeance is complete. When the time came for him to begin his saarinen, Kruenor found out that Terrak had left his estate in northern Tekat for an appointment in the city of Xraxus, so Kruenor traveled to Xraxus to begin his vengeance quest.
