Sessions 38: Attack at the Tankard & Dram
The
following night the group went to the Tankard & Dram. It was very busy, but
Bannor and Astaria pushed their way through the croud to the bar. The rest of
their companions, Chiranjeev, Flerg, and Raymond stayed out on the street, and
were sitting at a small table when they were attacked. Bannor and Astaria left
the tavern to aid their friends and by the time they entered the battle the
rogues were nearly defeated. Unfortunately when the enemies were gone Chiranjeev
was still in a battle frenzy and he turned on Bannor. After Chiranjeev landed a
couple of powerful blows, Bannor was in dire straights. Bannor broke
Chiranjeev’s weapon and grappled his berserk ally hoping to hold him off long
enough for him to regain control. After a short struggle Chiranjeev regained
control.
While
Astaria was healing her friends after the battle, Bannor spotted a couple of men
sneaking towards an alley beside the tavern. Normally he wouldn’t have looked
twice at them, but it was obvious that they were trying not to be seen. He ran
towards them, but when he reached the alley they were nowhere to be found. When
the rest of his friends got there they searched for a secret door and found one.
The secret door opened into a parlor. As the group walked deeper into the
building they were attacked by the men they had followed. The battle was quick
and the two rogues were defeated.
The group found a set of stairs leading down into the darkness. Before following the stairwell they decided to leave and contact Corwynne magically to see if she could do something to keep Chiranjeev from attacking his friends during his battle frenzy.
