Sessions 37: Xraxus
Bannor, Astaria, Chiranjeev, and Flerg traveled north to Xraxus.
They reached Xraxus and after finding an inn, Flerg and Bannor decided to explore the city, walking down towards the docks. Astaria and Chiranjeev walked down to the local temple to Rendolar.
As Bannor and Flerg approached the docks, Bannor spotted a man following them. Flerg and Bannor turned down an alley, hoping to trap the man following them. The man followed, but when Bannor sprung out from his hiding place the man turned and bolted. Bannor quickly grabbed him and dragged him back towards the alley. Some of the locals called for the guards. Two guards arrived and started questioning the pair. The man started telling the guards that he was innocent and that Bannor attacked him. One of the guards asked Bannor a question and Flerg spoke up. The guard said "Shut up half-breed" and Flerg snapped.
He drew his axe, but both the racist guard and the man that followed them were faster. They both attacked Flerg, grievously wounding him. Bannor acted before Flerg as well, yelling "Don't attack the guards" and with a mighty flurry Bannor snapped both of the guard's weapons. Both guards backed away blowing whistles to call more of their compatriots. The man that started the whole situation bolted down the alley, turning invisible. Unfortunately for him he didn't realize that Bannor could smell him. Bannor quickly caught him and between he and Flerg they dragged the man to a rooftop. It turns out that the man was a rogue from a local thieves' guild known as the Gamoners. Bannor warned the man and they let him go.
After their skirmish with the rogue and the guards, Bannor and Flerg stepped out into the street to sort out the problem with the authorities. A group of guards were gathered around a man in full plate armor with a antlered helmet. When the two guards that had their weapons broken by Bannor saw them, they pointed and shouted. Bannor and Flerg were already walking toward the group, in a non-threatening manner. The leader with the antlered helm steeped forward and introduced himself as Ignatius Rowe. He asked Bannor and Flerg for an explanation and Bannor told him the story of their earlier altercation. He said that they have been having problems with the guard that insulted Flerg and that he would be reprimanded.
During his explanation Bannor mentioned the Gamoners and Ignatious’ interest was instantly piqued. As they walked back towards Ignatius’ headquarters, they discussed the Gamoners. During the conversation Ignatius mentioned that one of the Gamoners’ hangouts was a tavern in Misty Downs called the Tankard & Dram. Figuring that would be a good place to start their search for answers they went back to the inn to wait for Astaria and Chiranjeev.
Astaria and Chiranjeev went to the temple, and while they were walking back to the inn they were attacked by three Gamoners. They defeated them quickly and they met Bannor and Flerg back at the inn.
